Bond Is Back in the First 'No Time to Die' Teaser

No Time to Die: First Trailer for James Bond 25 Debuts This Week

No Time to Die: First Trailer for James Bond 25 Debuts This Week

A preview to a preview is inherently ridiculous, and thus I make it a rule to ignore such malarkey.

Craig recently confirmed that No Time to Die will be his final appearance as Bond and he plans to step away from the franchise entirely, although Craig previously conceded he was completely exhausted with the role in the lead up to the release of SPECTRE. This would be Daniel Craig's fifth film as the iconic fictional British spy.

So yes, the big deal here is that the first trailer for No Time to Die is dropping on Wednesday. If not, we'll have to wait until April 3 for the full film's premiere. Since Bond is about as British as you can get though, Sony may stick to United Kingdom time and we'll get something a bit closer to the middle of the day.

During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his current film Knives Out, Craig, 51, responded in the affirmative when asked by the TV host if he is done with playing Bond.

Of course, I'm expecting a lot more than just silly gadgets in this film. We see him in London, and we see him participating in a motorcycle chase that has him making an incredible leap. But Craig seems like he is James Bond.

The teaser also gives a first blurry look at the nefarious villain played by Rami Malek who is seen behind a patterned glass door.

In the process of the trailer's tease, we also do manage to see that James Bond's signature Aston Martin is going to be receiving a few major upgrades, particularly in the weapons department.

Directed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Beasts of No Nation), No Time to Die hits cinemas in April 2020. Will Craig end his time as Bond with a bang instead of a whimper?
