Wolverhampton Wanderers' winger Adama Traore was called up to the Spain squad on Saturday, despite reports suggesting the 23-year-old had made a decision to represent Mali.

The 23-year-old speedster was born in Spain and has represented them at various youth levels, and is also eligible to play for Mali through his parents.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation confirmed his withdrawal on Twitter but have yet to announce who will be called up in his place.

Rodrigo Moreno has been ruled out of Spain's upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers after sustaining a back injury in Valencia's 2-0 win against Granada on Saturday.

Moreno's call being made just a day after it broke in the Madrid press that Adama would commit his global future to Mali. He left Barcelona in 2015 after coming through the youth academy.

Spain, who clinched their place at Euro 2020 last month, host Malta on November 15 before ending their Group F campaign at home to Romania on November 18.
