In a follow-up tweet hours later, it was announced by Slater that it was Dion Waiters, who reportedly passed out on the plane ride after he "overdosed" on gummies.

"Please don't believe the rumors the media will report fake news to get clicks and likes", Waiters' mom, Monique Brown, wrote on Instagram Saturday following news the Heat player had a seizure on the team plane Thursday after eating too many sweets. According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Waiters took ill on the plane and was met on the tarmac by emergency responders. "He had a seizure when he was finally woken up, I'm told". The Heat lost on Friday night to the Lakers, and Waiters did not play due to illness. "Waiters was listed out tonight".

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra on Friday initially directed inquiries to general manager Andy Elisburg, who then said such questions should go through a team spokesman, who declined comment.

Waiters has not commented.

It's unclear what kind of edibles Waiters was allegedly consuming.

Waiters has now missed the first nine games this season after having previously been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.

Waiters faces missing out on a $1.2 million contract bonus if he misses four more games this season. So instead of me joining the circus I told myself you from (Philly) you've been through worst s-- in your life than this.

"I'm not done yet but I kno somebody in the world prolli needed to hear this". Waiters is owed $24 million over this season and next as part of a deal he signed with the Heat in 2017.
