At least one person from the scene was admitted to Lowell General Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

A police official in the State told AFP she did not know how many people were hurt or the motive of the shooting.

"Preliminary investigation of the matter indicates that this incident does not appear to be a random event", the statement said.

It's unknown if the two people shot were part of the wedding or there as guests. Police said the shooter arrived at the scene after the wedding began.

Authorities were called to the New England Pentecostal Church on Bridge Street mid-morning on Saturday, where a meeting was being held at 9:30 a.m., according to the church's website.

Hillsborough County Attorney Michael Conlon tells CNN affiliate WMUR there are no fatalities in the shooting.

Roark said the church had just received active shooter training from his department within the previous year.

Pelham is located about 40 miles (64 kilometers) south of Concord, New Hampshire's capital. The service was in honor of a minister at the church who was shot and killed in his home October 2. He was 60 years old.

A celebration of life for former minister Luis Garcia was scheduled to take place at the church at noon.

Brandon Castiglione, 24, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the alleged crime.

A police dispatcher said reports of a shooting were being investigated but there was no confirmation of any injuries.

A suspect has been arrested in the shooting at the New England Pentecostal Church, Roark said.
