Republicans accused of stifling sexual misconduct claim against Brett Kavanaugh during confirmation

USA president Donald Trump mounted an angry defense of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on Sunday as the controversial judge faced calls for an investigation over fresh allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Times essay, drawn from an upcoming book written by the newspaper's reporters, discussed a previously unreported account of Kavanaugh's behavior as a freshman at Yale University that echoed allegations against him by former classmate Deborah Ramirez.

He suggested Justice Kavanaugh should sue for libel - or that the USA justice department should "rescue" him.

The conversation continued as Pavlich, Doocy and Brian Kilmeade took turns bashing the Times' reliance on Max Stier's account as the basis for the allegations against Kavanaugh. The authors reported the former classmate came forward to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and senators concerning an incident he witnessed and said the Federal Bureau of Investigation did not investigate the incident.

Ms. Ramirez's legal team gave the F.B.I. a list of at least 25 individuals who may have had corroborating evidence. However, the allegation was not investigated, the New York Times reported on Saturday. The Supreme Court press officers did not immediately return a request for comment.

'Now the Radical Left Democrats and their Partner, the LameStream Media, are after Brett Kavanaugh again, talking loudly of their favorite word, impeachment, ' he said in another tweet. The latest claim mirrors one offered during his confirmation process by Deborah Ramirez, a Yale classmate who claimed Kavanaugh exposed himself to her during a drunken party.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, also a member of the Judiciary Committee, told ABC's "This Week" Sunday she strongly opposed Kavanaugh's confirmation, and accused Barr of "shielding documents" related to the allegations against Kavanaugh.

President Donald Trump and Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his swearing-in ceremony at the White House in Washington, October 8, 2018. Elizabeth Warren, tweeted that "Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing". "The lies being told about him are unbelievable". Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro both called for Kavanaugh's impeachment through tweets.

Last time, when the Democrats rallied behind another Kavanaugh's accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, it ended up in a total fiasco as Ford's testimony was ultimately found to be unverifiable, and Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court. Trump, championed his nominee on Twitter, writing, "He is an innocent man who has been treated HORRIBLY".

Ford, a 52-year-old research psychologist and professor, drew national attention last year after she came forward with sexual assault allegations following Trump's appointment of Kavanaugh.

"Just a normal day when the President suggests a Supreme Court Justice should sue (for libel) or the DOJ should help him", she wrote sarcastically.

The curvy couch talked about this extensively on Monday, noting how several 2020 Democrats have used the Times story to demand Kavanaugh's impeachment.
