Florida dodges bullet with Humberto, but there's concern behind it

Humberto is reported to have wind speeds of 75 miles per hour (120 kph), while Dorian's maximum wind speeds were a sustained 185 miles per hour (295 kph).

"Additional strengthening is forecast through Wednesday, and Humberto is expected to become a hurricane by tonight", the NHC said in its latest advisory on Sunday. A turn toward the east-northeast is expected later today.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from Humberto's center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 miles.

"Humberto is moving away from Florida and will continue intensifying over the next couple of days".

Forecasters say Tropical Storm Humberto continues to strengthen, raising the risk of unsafe rip currents on the southeastern US coast.

On that track it is forecast to approach Bermuda late Wednesday or Thursday.

And another system in the Gulf of Mexico has "little" chance of developing before it moves toward land early this week, according to predictions. The tropical wave in red could become a depression in a few days.
