Great honour’ Virat Kohli stand unveiled Feroz Shah Kotla gets renamed as Arun Jaitley stadium

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are definitely one of the power couples of Bollywood. The stadium has been renamed after former Finance Minister of India and President of DDCA (Delhi & Districts Cricket Association) Arun Jaitley. Moments later the actress was seen sneaking the soft kiss.

The clip has been shared by various fan clubs on social media platforms.

A short video and an animation film on Kohli's journey from being an U-19 player to India captain was also shown.

"It was in 2001 during a match against Zimbabwe, my childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma gave me two tickets".

Kohli also spoke about his rapport with Arun Jaitley and said: "I told Arun Jaitley ji's family that the world knew him differently but I have known him just as a human being". "So to have a pavilion in my name at the same stadium today is surreal and a great honour", Kohli revealed.

The whole team was felicitated after this by Shah and Rijiju following which the players posed for a group photograph.

Former India cricketer Kapil Dev on Thursday praised skipper Virat Kohli saying that he never expected that somebody could come close to the standard set by Sachin Tendulkar. "And whatever DDCA does for Arun Jaitley is not enough given his contribution". "He truly deserves this". He remained DDCA chief for 13 years and he played a great role in making the likes of Virat, Pant, Dhawan, Nehra, Sehwag as great players.

While some of the users taunted the swimwear they wore was the ethnic brand's (which Kohli and Anushka endorse) new addition to the collection, few also took hilarious potshots at the Government stating that they wore minimum clothes due to the slowdown in the textile industry.

"Arun Jaitleyji was president for 14 years and I was vice president". Whenever we needed direction, he would help us. The biggest help he did was to rebuild the Kotla stadium. "So befitting to name it in his honour", Chauhan said.
