Microsoft is expected to announce a new range of Surface tablets and laptops on the 2nd October, including Surface Pro tablets with USB-C ports and Snapdragon-powered Surface Gos. Last year Microsoft had refreshed its Surface Pro and Surface Laptop lineup with a black option. We've also heard rumblings of a Surface speaker. This latest event invite clearly seems to be hinting at processor changes. Microsoft's first invite - sent a few weeks ago - had 10/2 in silver shapes, as well. Mary Jo Foley from ZDNet reports that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be present at the upcoming event, although he wasn't at the fall event in 2018. While Panay is always at Surface events, Nadella is only there on occasion.

As he says, on 2 October, you just need to head to surface.com/microsoftevent to see what Microsoft has to reveal. But it did have a livestream when it introduced the Surface Studio and Surface Book 2 - major new hardware categories for the company. It could also talk about Windows Lite - an upcoming variant of Windows that's created to power new hardware. The Next Web speculates that the event could see the launch of a device codenamed Centaurus - a dual screen Surface. But the main announcement with this new invite is the fact that the event will be live-streamed.
