Stephen Amell Heels

Stephen Amell has played the Green Arrow for eight years in a show that launched CW's own shared universe.

TV Line reports Amell has lined up his first post-Arrow acting gig, and is officially set to headline a new Starz drama set in the world of wrestling. Amell will star as the company's owner and "villain" (aka the "heel"), a working class father and husband trying to turn the small company into a major player.

"[Jack Spade] has the mind of an artist in the body of a warrior, and a Steve Jobs-ian need for perfection - and for control."
The hard-working family man must do whatever it takes to secure his future as the star of DWA and claim the legacy that his Father left behind for him and his sibling rival. Will he go so far as to risk his marriage or his relationship with his brother?

The series is written by Michael Waldron (Loki), with Mike O'Malley set as showrunner.

Prior to signing on for Heels, Amell played Oliver Queen on the popular CW show Arrow.

Coincidentally, Amell himself is no stranger to the world of pro wrestling. The actor previously stepped into the wrestling ring for SummerSlam in August 2015 and the All In Independent wrestling event in September 2018. O'Malley was the creator and executive producer of Survivor's Remorse, which ran for four seasons on Starz.

This isn't Stephen Amell's first involvement with the wrestling industry, however, with him having competed in matches for both WWE and AEW - most recently losing to Christopher Daniels at AEW's All In PPV. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television for Starz in association with Paramount Television Studios. Not long after the news of Heels broke, Stephen Amell took to Twitter to reach out to wrestler Cody Rhodes, asking if he wanted to help make a TV show.
