Billie Eilish Dethrones Lil Nas X from Billboard Hot 100′s Top Spot

Billboard reports Lil Nas' history-making hit Old Town Road was finally overpowered by Eilish's Bad Guy, ending 19 weeks of chart dominance for the former's hip-hop/country homunculus. During his time on the throne, he came out as gay, released a new EP, and broke several records on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Bad Guy" is the second track on Eilish's hit album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?", which debuted at No. 1 with the second-biggest opening of 2019 behind Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next", according to Billboard. Ahead of its coronation, the song held the record for most consecutive weeks at No. 2.

Not only is Eilish's first No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, but she's also the first artist born in the 21st century to reach the spot, as she was born December 18, 2001. She's also the youngest to lead the list since a then-16-year-old Lorde did in 2013 with "Royals". The song has become something of a phenomenon, even earning Lil Nas X a Time magazine cover.
