Harry Styles' The Little Mermaid Prince Eric casting has been revealed, so fans everywhere can rejoice! In a now-deleted tweet (not sure what that's about), AMC tweeted that the British heartthrob had officially signed on to the production as of August 13. The former One Direction band member was rumored to be in talks for the role of the dashing Prince Eric in Disney's next live-action remake of a fan-favorite.

Halle Bailey will portray the Ariel, a mermaid princess who dreams of being a human, while Melissa McCarthy is playing her evil aunt Ursula.

Say hello to the new face of Disney!

Behind the camera, Rob Marshall, director of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Mary Poppins Returns, is helming The Little Mermaid, and David Magee, who wrote Mary Poppins Returns, penned the latest draft of the script. Kingsman co-writer Jane Goldman wrote an earlier draft. Another key role that has yet to be cast is Sebastian the crab, though Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is believed to be the frontrunner for the part, seeing as he's producing the movie and already writing new songs with Alan Menken, the Oscar-winning composer behind the original 1989 animated film.

The film would go on to win two Academy Awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for Under the Sea.

The original "The Little Mermaid" was a hit when it debuted 30 years ago and was credited with sparking a Disney animation renaissance.

He was also up for the highly-coveted role of music legend Elvis Presley in a currently-untitled biopic from director Baz Luhrmann.
