More than anything, this new Age of Resistance trailer really sells the high stakes and even higher adventure, the likes of which we've never seen done with puppets and-TBH!-haven't really seen done on Netflix!

Netflix has released the trailer for their new series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance that debuts on the streaming network August 30 and is based on the 1982 movie.

Starring as the Gelfling heroes, Taron Egerton takes on the role of Rain, while Anya Taylor Joy voices Brea and Game of Thrones alumna Nathalie Emmanuel plays Deet. That film has lived on for nearly 4 decades thanks to the incredible story and puppeteer work from the legendary Jim Henson. The story revolves around the Crystal of Truth a.k.a.

The world of Thra is dying in Age of Resistance, as the source of its power, the Crystal of Truth, has become damaged and corrupted by the evil Skeksis, leaving a sickness spreading across the land.

The show concerns three Gelflings who discover the horrifying secret behind the power of the dreaded Skeksis and set out on an epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world.

Lisa Henson, Louis Leterrier, and Halle Stanford serve as executive producers, with Jeffrey Addiss & Will Matthews, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, and Blanca Lista serving as co-executive producers.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance also features the voices of Mark Hamill, Simon Pegg, Awkwafina, Lena Headey, Eddie Izzard, Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Jason Isaacs, Andy Samberg, and Sigourney Weaver.
