Allegiant Airlines announced Tuesday it will begin offering flights from MidAmerica St. Louis Airport to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in Florida for as low as $69.

Bishop International Airport in Flint said new, direct flights to Sarasota, Fla., will start this fall. "We know local area residents will enjoy our convenient, affordable service to get away to handsome southwest Florida this winter".

"We are thrilled to add the sixth dot to our route map with Allegiant", said Mike Daigle, South Bend International Airport CEO and executive director.

Routes to and from Palm Beach will include Pittsburgh (November 14); Charlotte, North Carolina (November 15); Knoxville, Tennessee (November 15); Indianapolis (November 21); Asheville, North Carolina (November 25) and Cincinnati (November 25).

The new flights are scheduled to operate twice weekly - on Sundays and Thursdays - and can be booked immediately for travel through April 2020, officials for the airline and airport said. With the additional two flights each week, Allegiant will fly to five cities from Flint.
