Despite leading England to World Cup glory last weekend, the Australian has not had a change of heart and he will replace Tom Moody at the helm of Sunrisers, who have England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow in their ranks. He not only helped KKR lift two IPL trophies in his 4-year tenure but also did a commendable job with Big Bash League franchise Sydney Sixers.

Mickey Arthur has frequently said that he would like to continue on as Pakistan's head coach, but he also admitted that he is interested in succeeding Trevor Bayliss as England's coach. "#SRHCoachTrevor", SunRisers wrote in their social media post.

"After very careful consideration, the Sunrisers franchise has chose to take a new direction with the Head Coaching role and will be parting ways with the services of Tom Moody,"the franchise said in a press release posted on its twitter handle".

World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss, whose tenure with England comes to an end after the Ashes, will take over as the Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach. He is a proven victor and we feel that his successful track record will be ideal in taking SunRisers Hyderabad forward.

The franchise made it clear that Moody was not being snubbed and instead he had made an "enormous impact" in Sunrisers making the IPL playoffs five times in seven seasons. "We would also like to thank him for his work ethic and leadership over our journey and wish him all the success moving forward".

England overcame New Zealand in a thriller to win their first men's World Cup title at Lord's on Sunday.

As coach of England, Bayliss oversaw an Ashes win in 2015, the team's run to No1 in ODIs as well as this month's historic World Cup win and their presence in the final of the 2016 ICC World T20. It is understood Knight Riders, too, had initiated talks with him, as did Rajasthan Royals.
