However, it has been announced that the series will be airing on HBO Max, the network's new streaming service. Thereby it is planning to reboot a number of other series which includes, The Twilight Zone, Beverly Hills, Magnum P.I. and Charmed.

Max, owned by WarnerMedia, said on Tuesday that it had ordered a new 10-episode series that will be set eight years after Gossip Girl ended its original run in 2012 and will follow a new generation of private school kids.

The teens are rich, of course.

Every "Gossip Girl" fan is familiar with this line, and when the news about the series' reboot broke the Internet, fanatics went insane on social media. It would comprise a whole new generation of NY teens and explore the ways in which NY and social media had changed in the preceding years.

We can't wait to enjoy the plot twists that will take place on the Upper East Side!

Original creative team of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are returning as executive producers.

None of the original cast members are returning.

We're wondering if the reboot will keep a light shining on the latest fashion trends: The characters played by Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and the other actors definitely wore some incredible apparel and accessories during the late 2000s through early 2010s. There's also "Station Eleven", a post-apocalyptic limited series based on Emily St. John Mandel's global bestseller.

The original series ran for 6 years from 2007-2012 on CW. While HBO Max confirmed the reboot, the company has not confirmed the cast or premiere date at this time. "Charmed" originally aired on the WB from 1998 to 2006.

As with most reboots, some time has passed between the last time we saw the GG gang and now.

Penn was completely against the idea of a reboot in 2018, so much so that he told Fox News that he couldn't see a reboot happening. We can't wait to be back inside the Peach Pit with Brandon, Brenda and the gang!
