"To not do it R feels disingenuous to the source material..."

Miller confirmed that this sequel will take the franchise back to its R-rated days (thank goodness, and via Variety) because "the fans kind of demanded it" and "t$3 he DNA of Terminator is an R-rated f*cking movie".

A sequel to The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, the new film will ignore all the other movies in the franchise and picks up decades later as a new type of Terminator is sent back to terminate a new target.

The news excited devout fans in the house at Hall H, signaling that under director Tim Miller this new vision for the Arnold Schwarzenegger franchise will return to its gritty roots.

James Cameron, the original man behind Terminator, kicked the panel off with a video message from his current Avatar film set.

Of course, for those who kept up with the career of Edward Furlong, there were some great post-T2 turns in the likes of American History X, Detroit Rock City, !*$%, Animal Factory, and even The Crow: Wicked Prayer (yeah, we said it!).

Believe it or not, another bombshell was just dropped at San Diego Comic-Con, and that pertains to Edward Furlong reprising the John Connor role. Hamilton and Schwarzenegger will share the screen with Davis (Blade Runner 2049), Reyes (Birds of Passage) and Luna (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).

SDCC's first highly-anticipated panel was Terminator: Dark Fate, and boy did it not disappoint.
