Questions about the transfer portal have been frequent at SEC Media Days, and Alabama head coach Nick Saban was the latest to chime in. Saban added that the recent increase in approvals is turning the college football scene into "free agency". I don't think we played with the kind of discipline that we want to play with as an organization and as a team. "You know, I think when we started with the transfer portal, it was a mechanism for players to be able to say I'm transferring, so everybody knows that I'm transferring, so if that creates opportunities for me to go different places, then that's a good thing for the player". We think he can be a really really good player for us. In the one thing that makes those guys what they were and what they are is the number of players that have come up to me throughout the years in both those programs and tell me how much their coach impacted their life in terms of lessons they learned as competitors or the values that were instilled in them while they were in the program, the relationships that were developed. "And now we have, I don't know-at one point in time there were 65 waivers that were given in a year". So everybody's expectation is I can transfer and get a waiver.

"LaBryan Ray has been a really good player for us he was very productive for us previous year. They handled it a lot better than we did and we didn't execute very well in the game".
