"Cricket is my passion but I do not want to be part of the selection process".

Pakistan's exit from the World Cup was confirmed on July 7 following their last league match against Bangladesh and Mani has said that every sporting decision taken by the board will be on the recommendations of the cricket committee which will also take into consideration the national team's performance over the last three years. "I also thanked them for backing and supporting the selection committee since taking over the reins of Pakistan cricket", Inzamam, the most capped Test player, said. I joined in 2016 and have spent a good time here.

"I wish the new chief of the selection committee and the Pakistan cricket teams all the best in what will be exciting but competitive times in worldwide cricket".

Inzamam-ul-Haq has decided that this is the right time for him to walk off from the team set up.

But nevertheless, let's see who becomes the next Chief Selector for PCB. "I will follow their progress with interest because I firmly believe these players have all the ingredients to take the Pakistan cricket team to greater heights". He scored a century on ODI debut, becoming only the second Pakistani to do so, and averages a shade under 55 in the format after playing 36 matches.

However, the former captain maintained that he would accept the board's offer if he is chosen for another role. They were level on points with New Zealand but the latter qualified for the semifinal due to better net run-rate.

Inzamam-ul-Haq just announced his retirement and people are already wondering who's next.

"As far as the playing eleven is concerned, the captain and the coach can seek suggestions from me but I cannot take the decision", he said. "Shoaib Malik has played for us for a long time; it happens sometimes that the player selected does not perform - it does not mean the selection was wrong or the player is bad", he said.
