Designed for use with mirrorless cameras (full compatibility list HERE), the Ronin-SC is a single-handed 3-axis gimbal with a durable construction made from magnesium, steel, aluminum, and composite plastic.

Weighing 2.4 pounds, the DJI Ronin-SC is 41% lighter than the original. "Now users can pair their mirrorless system with a stabilizer that is easier to transport, easier to set up, easier to use yet still equipped with high-performance features and technology", he added.

In brief: The gimbal can support up to 4.4 pounds and its battery offers up to 11 hours of operation on a single charge. The SC also incorporates a new position lock system. Once the gimbal is balanced, the time it takes to remount the camera and start is reduced significantly, saving time during shoots.

The Ronin-SC's mode button lets you quickly switch between three setting profiles.

A staple in the Ronin series, the Ronin-SC features a host of intelligent modes to inspire all levels of content creators. Modes include the popular 360-degree roll movement and sport mode, which makes the gimbal more responsive. Connect your phone to the Ronin-SC over Bluetooth 5.0 and it syncs with your phone's movement so that whatever way you pan or tilt it, the camera will follow those moves.

As expected based on the teaser from earlier this week, DJI has officially announced a new, lighter-weight version of its 3-axis Ronin-S gimbal.

Being worthy of the Ronin name, you can expect the Ronin-SC to have all the features you've come to expect from a DJI gimbal and more. With the included mount, users can put their mobile device on top of their camera's hotshoe, open the Ronin app and select the subject for the SC to follow using its improved algorithms. It also offers two new modes through the Ronin app that its heavier sibling doesn't offer. But the gimbal is going mobile in more ways than one, integrating new smartphone-powered tools including subject tracking and remote control of the camera's movement.
