One of the summer's biggest transfers looks set to become a done deal as Matthijs de Ligt arrived in Turin to join Juventus from Ajax.

The Serie A champions shared footage of De Ligt, 19, jetting in to Turin where he is expected to complete a medical on Wednesday.

Courted by Manchester United, Barcelona and other clubs, De Ligt, agreed to sign a contract with Juventus on a five-year term, including an annual salary of 12 million euros and a 150 million penalty, according to the Italian press.

However, at the end of the day, Juventus were able to agree a massive deal with the youngster reportedly valued around £12m per year after reaching a fee with Ajax this week. "You are disappointed that you have lost and that is the only thing you are thinking about".

Overmars has insisted their pursuit of the Mexico global doesn't hinge on them selling De Ligt, saying: "This transfer is not depending on the development of De Ligt's transfer".

"This transfer is not depending on the development of De Ligt's transfer", Overmars added.

"Edson is a player we think is good, so he might come to us".

"He has progressed very well, and he can play in many positions".

De Ligt will link up with former Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri at Juve and fellow new signings Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey as the Bianconeri aim to win a ninth straight Scudetto.
