Manchester United are eyeing a move for Russian attacker Fyodor Chalov, it has been revealed. The Red Devils have been linked with several names but Chalov fits the profile.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the hierarchy have taken a different approach to the transfer season, as they have signed quite a few younger players this time.

According to the Mirror, other clubs interested in the 21-year-old include all five of Arsenal's Premier League top six rivals, German trio Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, AS Monaco and Sevilla.

The two-cap Russian global has been at CSKA since he was eight, and has banged in 30 goals in 86 games since making his debut in 2016.

But Chalov, with 27 goals in 65 League games for CSKA is looking for game time - not a bit part role.

Is Fedor Chalov on his way to the big leagues? He has an excellent vision, can create chances galore and at his age, will only get better playing alongside star players at a club like Manchester United.

However, Solskjaer wants natural strikers who cannot only push for a place in the first team but can make an immediate impact if called upon and Chalov fits the bill well.

Arsenal are in the market for attacking reinforcements after Danny Welbeck left the club when his contract expired last month and the report says Unai Emery has been keen on Chalov since he scored against the Gunners in the 2017/18 Europa League quarter-finals.

And that could be a problem for Liverpool with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino unmoveable in the Anfield forward line after leading the club to a sixth European Cup and a second-place Premier League finish, one point adrift of champions Manchester City, last season.

Now CSKA Moscow have slapped in an enquiry for the striker as they bid to assess the costs of any deal to take him to Russian Federation.
