Everton enjoyed a fantastic individual season in his homeland of Brazil last season with Gremio and played a starring role in Brazil's recent Copa America triumph. The Gunners need to make do with £45 million only this summer, as apart from a winger, the club also needs defensive reinforcements.

The Sun says Arsenal have held positive talks with Everton Soares over a potential move to the Emirates and they cite Brazilian reporter Sergio Araujo as saying that club officials will travel to Brazil tomorrow to try and wrap-up a deal for the winger.

The gunners are understood to be interested in Everton Soares since he is a talented winger and, it's now being reported by Fox Sports Brazil that Arsenal has sent a doctor to go and do a medical on Everton in Brazil.

The transfer window opened in May past year and the gunners have so far signed only Gabriel Martinelli and are now working hard to bring in new players after the announcement of Edu Gaspar as their first technical director.

According to UOL, Gremio are likely to demand a fee of around £36m for the player, who has scored 49 goals in 210 appearances for the club, with Bayern Munich and AC Milan also reportedly keen. Edu was associated with the Brazilian national side including for the Copa America win.

Arsenal's squad is in major need of additions this summer as Unai Emery looks to end their three-year absence from the Champions League.
