The country-turned-pop megastar earned a staggering $185 million over the course of the previous year to head up the 2019 Forbes' 100 Highest Paid Celebrities list.

Forbes dropped its Celebrity 100 list Wednesday, and Taylor tops the charts with the biggest earnings total of her career.

Her inclusion on the list proved controversial, with many claiming her "billionaire" status derived in part from her famous family. It was none other than Taylor Swift who landed the top spot with a whopping $185 million.

Other female celebrities to make the list include comedian Ellen DeGeneres, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West and singers Rihanna, Katy Perry and Pink.

Forbes estimates the 29-year-old singer made $185m (£148m) in pre-tax earnings in the year beginning 1 June 2018. Swift is set to release her seventh studio album, Lover, on August 23. Much of "Kanye's Second Coming" is down to the artist's YEEZY brand, whose sales are estimated to hit $1.5 billion this year.

Akshay mark 33rd positions in the list grossed over $65 million; he has once again renewed his superstardom status by becoming the only Indian on the list.

No celebrity from the film fraternity made it to the top 10 with Dwayne Johnson becoming the first actor to be on the list at No. 15.
