It looks like Final Fantasy VII Remake will remain a PlayStation exclusive

The official Xbox Germany social media team sent Final Fantasy fans into a bit of a frenzy yesterday when a post on the Xbox Germany Facebook page showed footage from the Final Fantasy VII Remake video game, a title that's only officially been announced for release on Sony's PlayStation 4 console.

This latest post from Xbox Germany (found by Twitter user Nibel), dubbed an "internal mistake" from the crew, is the only information we have. "Sorry, no announcement on our side", she wrote. Even so, there has been some evidence in the past that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be coming to other platforms, including the Xbox One, with a video uploaded to Facebook by Xbox Germany potentially even revealing the unannounced port's release date. Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake due for a simultaneous release with PS4, and Xbox's social team has accidentally let the news out early? "We have no plans for other platforms" which seems to have put any hopes to bed that the game will see the light of day on an Xbox or Nintendo platform.

Although no logos for any other platform have appeared in trailers released so far, Square Enix never explicitly said Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a PS4-exclusive; the assumption was that it will launch first on PS4 before coming to other platforms. Graff went on to say that the team will work to make sure this kind of slip-up doesn't happen again.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be coming to PlayStation 4 on 3rd March 2020, and we'll be crossing our fingers tightly that it's only a timed exclusive.
