'The Boys' Amazon Series Trailer: CIA Agents Battle Sinister Superheroes

The parade of comicbook adaptations continues, and Amazon's take on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's snarky, violent title The Boys is arriving at the end of next month.

Billy Butcher, Hughie Campbell, Mother's Milk, The Frenchman, and The Female get seriously discouraged when they keep losing to the superheroes, until Butcher compares the annoying squad to the Spice Girls.

The eight-episode series comes from Eric Kripke (Supernatural) with Dan Trachtenberg (10 CLOVERFIELD LANE) helming the pilot and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg onboard as executive producers. No, you are not hallucinating - all of that just happened before your very eyes, and we, for one, could not be more pumped for this show. The Boys are also looking to take down Vought, a giant conglomerate which manages the superheros.

The series features Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, a Central Intelligence Agency operative who leads a ragtag unit of human miscreants called "The Boys", composed of Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), Female (Karen Fukuhara) and Frenchie (Tomer Kapon).

Supes have been committing atrocities, which keep getting swept under the rug because they are revered by the adoring public.

Superheroes are known to fight evil villains in many storylines, however, The Boys, Amazon's new series, features the opposite scenario, where Central Intelligence Agency agents are tasked to take down these powerful figures who have corrupted the planet.

The Boys, which stars Chace Crawford, Karen Fukuhara, Elizabeth Shue, and Karl Urban, will hit Amazon Prime Video on July 26. Based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis, The Boys is a revenge story where the nobodies take on the somebodies.
