Klay Thompson injury: Warriors star suffers devastating blow, will NOT return for Game 6

Thompson sustained the injury while attempting a fast-break dunk in the third quarter of Thursday's season-ending loss to the Toronto Raptors. Had he left he would have been ineligible to come back in the game.

But Steve Kerr got one of his players to foul, forcing Thompson to head back to the locker room to receive treatment.

Some staffers went and stopped him from leaving and brought him back to the court to take the free throws. Thompson scored an unreal 28 points on 12 shots, keeping Oracle Arena on its feet and throwing haymaker after haymaker to respond to anything the Toronto Raptors threw at the defending champs.

According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Thompson will not return to Game 6.

Moments after he was injured, Thompson got up to his feet and was taken toward the locker room with the help of Warriors big men Jonas Jerebko and Jordan Bell on either side of him.

Klay would hit both free throws and wanted to remain in the game. He turned around in the tunnel and came out to a raucous ovation.

Thompson proceeded to knock down both free throws, giving Golden State an 85-80 lead as Warriors fans chanted "MVP!"

"I don't know yet what we're going to do (with Klay)", Warriors owner Joe Lacob told Haynes. Steph Curry adds 21, but misses a 3-pointer in the final seconds that would've put the Warriors ahead.
