In a significant development, the Mumbai Police have filed a closure report in the alleged #MeToo sexual harassment case lodged by actress Tanushree Dutta against actor Nana Patekar, a top official said here on Thursday.

"The B Summary report has been submitted before the concerned court", Shailesh Pasalwar, senior inspector at the Oshiwara police station, told Mid-day.

Responding to the news, Dutta criticised the fact that that the police filed its closure report despite failing to record the statements of all her witnesses.

In 2018, after coming back from the US, Tanushree accused the veteran actor of sexually harassing her on the sets of her film Horn Ok Pleassss.

Reportedly, Dutta's lawyer, Nitin Satpute also said, "We haven't yet received any official communication from the police yet. We can oppose it and after hearing us, the court, if satisfied, can direct the police to re-investigate or conduct further probe", Mr. Satpute said. News wire service ANI has reported the same as, "Tanushree Dutta alleged harassment case against Nana Patekar: Mumbai Police files a B Summary report in the case".

Dutta said previous year that she received legal notices from Patekar after repeating her claims against him. Check out what she said in an interaction with Bombay Times. Only the headline has been changed.

DCP (zone IX) Paramjit Singh Dahiya confirmed to TOI that a B Summary report had been filed but declined to divulge details. I complained to director and producer that I was facing a lot of problems because of him and they should tell him to stay away from me.

In 2018, she returned to India from the United States to disclose it was Nana Patekar. Samee was caught on tape brushing aside Tanushree's story, saying that she must have been on her period. Talking about Nana, she said that everyone in the industry knows about his indecent behaviour towards the actresses, but all are tight-lipped. She also claimed her prospect of getting a "dream job in Manhattan" was quashed by the "web of lies' the internet threw up". I still believe by the way that I will get justice and victory will be mine!

Mumbai police had also posted armed personnel outside Tanushree's residence after she said that MNS chief Raj Thackeray had threatened to carry out a "violent attack" on her when she accused his henchmen of vandalising her vehicle on the film's sets at Patekar's behest. They would also ask their Goregaon counterparts why they had not added Patekar's name in the 2008 FIR.
