Three other American tourists have died in the Dominican Republic of similar, odd circumstances in the weeks following Wallace's death.

"He started feeling very sick, he had blood in his urine and stool right afterward", Arnold said, adding that she and other relatives were confused by the circumstances surrounding Wallace's death.

Arnold said a hotel doctor checked Wallace out and ruled that he needed to be hospitalized.

She said she always doubted the cause of death.

Thirty members of the family took off for the Dominican Republic to be in place for Tickenoff's wedding on April 14.

Dozens of other tourists have reported severe sickness during visits to the resorts.

At the same Hard Rock resort previous year, another American man died under similar circumstances, the man's wife said.

Last week, a Colorado couple who stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Hotel alleged that they had become violently ill after being exposed to what they suspect were insecticides through the air conditioning system.

According to the Dominican authorities, all four died of natural causes but the families are looking for answers.

A preliminary autopsy for Schaup-Werner showed she suffered from a heart attack, pulmonary edema and respiratory failure.

Edward Holmes and Cynthia Day, an engaged couple from Maryland, died in their rooms at the Bahia Principe La Romana resort on May 30.

The family was in the Dominican Republic for Ticknoff's wedding. Within five days, three USA tourists died in their rooms at hotels owned by the Bahia Principe Hotels and Resorts group, a different hotel chain than where McCoy and her husband stayed.

They will send experts to conduct tests at the Bahia Principe hotels where Schaup-Werner, Holmes and Day died.

With the recent rise of mysterious and sudden deaths happening in resorts in the Dominican Republic, one has to ask, what is going on at these resorts?

Her husband, David Harrison, 45, died while vacationing at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana with her and their son in July 2018.

Wallace's family was alarmed to hear of three more deaths of American tourists that had occurred in the Dominican Republic in the month following his death.

Her sister, Felecia Nieves, told Fox 29 that Monique "was 51 years of age, relatively healthy, no reason for her to go on vacation and die so suddenly".

Awilda initially thought it was an accident, but she now thinks she may have been spiked, following the deaths of three people at the resort last month.

According to a lawsuit filed by the couple, their room smelled of chemicals.
