Getting a CBD-infused topical will now be as simple as a trip to the grocery store.

Just like a number of retailers in MI and nationally, the Cincinnati-based grocery store chain is introducing lotions, balms, oils, and creams into its stores' product lines in 17 states, including in MI. Not included in Kroger's plans are selling CBD food, drinks, or supplements not yet permitted to be sold by the FDA.

Kroger will be carrying products that contain no THC, company officials said.

The Midwest-based grocery chain says they are adding CBD products to MI stores, joining a growing trend.

"There are a lot of people that use CBD to relax, and guess what, that's what a lot of people use movies for". "Our limited selection of hemp-derived CBD topical products is from suppliers that have been reviewed for quality and safety".

"People kind of forget that we are even here sometimes I think or even a young generation doesn't come in here sometimes this is bringing everyone in and they are realizing, wait a second, this is really cool in here and I miss it from my childhood", said Gardner. And from those hemp plants can be extracted various CBD products, which are made from the oil of the cannabis family of plants.

Many believe CBD has healing properties, but it has no THC, which in marijuana creates a high. Most CBD is derived from hemp - which was federally legalized by the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill.
