Season 8 has seen a number of twists and turns, but what will the final episode reveal? Because, yeah, we all are. That doesn't mean that HBO is abandoning its hit series altogether, of course: In addition to the spinoff series that's now being developed, the network will air "Game of Thrones: The Last Watch" for viewers who've yet to fully accept that it's time to leave Westeros.

It was shot during the filming of the final season, and there are... some EMOTIONAL moments. Directed by noted documentary filmmaker Jeanie Finlay, the two-hour documentary focuses on the people behind the scenes and sets of the final season; it'll cover everything from building the world of Game of Thrones to crafting the weapons and armour.

He's known for playing brooding action hero Jon Snow but Kit Harington was reduced to tears while shooting the final Game of Thrones episode. (We're completely kidding, of course it matters who sits on the iron throne). The documentary was announced in late March by HBO.

So the emptiness has been prolonged... a week?

Part 1 of Game of Thrones: The Last Watch will air on M-Net (DStv 101) on 27 May.

In a press release, HBO said, "Much more than a "making of" documentary, this is a amusing, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world-and then have to say goodbye to it". With that being said, you can prepare for the end by watching the final episode trailer below, thanks to HBO.
