Sung Kang made up nearly 11 strokes on the field on the greens over the 72 holes of the AT&T Byron Nelson, but it was the two-stroke differential on the 15th green that resulted in his first PGA Tour victory, a two-shot win over Matt Every and Scott Piercy, who played 72 holes without a bogey but still didn't win.

Kang closed the Byron Nelson with a 4-under 67 to finish at 23 under and beat Matt Every and Scott Piercy by two strokes.

Every finished with a 66.

Sung Kang, who matched the Trinity Forest course record with a 61 in the second round, was also part of the lead group through nine holes, sitting one shot off the pace after a bogey on the par-three eighth.

Also at 12 under was Brooks Kopeka, the world's No. 3-ranked player who will go to the PGA Championship at Bethpage next week as the defending champion.

Kang drained a 23-foot birdie putt at 15 to take the lead for good on a marathon day that saw the leaders play 27 holes thanks to the six-hour weather delay on Saturday. "I only slept about three hours", he said.

But Every had a six-under 30 on the front nine on Saturday to get to 18 under.

Kang was 19 under after finishing a round of 3-under 68.

SOUTHPORT, England (AP) - Marcus Kinhult of Sweden birdied the last two holes for a 2-under 70 for a one-shot victory in the British Masters and his first European Tour title. Kang strung together three straight birdies at eight, nine and 10. He sits nine-under par, while Seamus Power had three holes to play before play was halted.

"Yesterday we finished too late and I didn't get enough time to sleep". That followed seven consecutive pars for Koepka after he was 4 under in his first five holes following a 36-foot eagle putt after driving the green at the short 301-yard par-4 No. 5 hole.

Sung Kang holds his club in his teeth after his shot of the 12th tee n the final round of the Byron Nelson golf tournament on Sunday, May 12, 2019, in Dallas.
