For the second time in program history, the Ole Miss Softball Complex will play host to an NCAA Regional, with the Rebels being selected as the No. 11 overall seed in the 2019 NCAA Softball Championship on Sunday.

FSU softball will take on Bethune Cookman (26-29) in the opening game Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET with SC (36-17) taking on South Florida (40-17) in the other part of the bracket. Also competing in the Lexington Regional is Toledo, Illinois and Virginia Tech.

State earned the two seed in the Seattle Regional, marking the second consecutive season for head coach Vann Stuedeman's squad to earn the two-seed ranking at a regional site. We certainly thought we had a good resume, but it was really iffy, especially since we kept waiting (for the bid). "We're excited to be (at home)".

Overall, Kentucky and all Southeastern Conference member schools made the field.

Minnesota finished the season No. 8 in the RPI rankings, and with the toughest schedule in the country. "USF's had a great season, SC and Bethune-Cookman are all great teams that we know really well, and we are excited for the weekend".

Each regional is a four-team, double-elimination tournament.

"I was beyond excited", she said. After the draw was announced, pitcher Meghan King said the Seminoles are going to need more of the home crowd juice again come Friday. The Retrievers (30-22) are champions of the America East Conference.

"That's the one team I don't know about, because they had an unbelievable tournament", she said. "Seeing Lexie (Handley) have a great outing and seeing Chardonnay (Harris) pitch a shutout and me do well, I feel like that's good momentum going into the Regionals".
