Charles has now reportedly lost over 1 million subscribers and followers across multiple social media platforms amid the ongoing feud with his fellow YouTube star.

The promotion caused tensions as Westbrook owns a brand called Halo Beauty, whose direct competitor is the supplement company Charles gave air time to.

"You are using your fame, power and money to play with people's emotions", Tati Westbrook said.

Shortly after, Charles' 17-year-old brother tweeted, "Why does everyone act so tough on the internet", to his 325,000 followers, in an apparent move to defend his brother and call out those who have attacked him since the feud began.

His video, which has over 18 million views, has an overwhelming number of "dislikes". He said that he had only promoted the brand because Sugar Bear Hair had helped him when he was at Coachella when the crowd became rough and that he didn't take money for the work. Charles described Westbrook as a "parental" figure in his life, as well as her husband.

"You kept saying you can't be bought, but you just were". I don't want to be friends with you. Fans have taken to Twitter and Instagram to show their support, and there are a lot of fans who are seriously enjoying watching a live stream that is tallying up Charles's subscriber count decline against Westbrook's unprecedented gain in viewership.

In fact, the pair are so close that they starred in each other's videos several times, with James even doing Tati's makeup for her wedding day.

In the meantime, Tati's subscriber count has grown exponentially as it appears fans have believed her version of events and her damaging claims about Charles.

Tati (37) has been a huge supporter of James Charles (19) and helped him to build a career, working with him regularly and helping to build his profile.

He concluded, "I'm so disappointed in myself that I hurt her".

The beauty star is now in Australia, and has responded to his former-mentor's take down, issuing an 8 minute apology video.

Tati has not yet responded to his apology.

According to the website Social Blade James Charles now has 14.6m subscribers - previously the figure was 16m.

She did then correct herself, noting that it was "only one dm and some comments under pictures". After supporting Tati for days with congratulatory messages for her hitting new subscriber milestones, YouTuber and CEO of Jeffree Star Cosmetics alluded to there being even more to the story.

"The last phone conversation me and James Charles had, is that he said something about a situation that happened at my birthday in Seattle". That number had fallen to nearly 14 million on Sunday afternoon and shows no signs of slowing down.
