"The fact that Rajiv Gandhi was awarded a Bharat Ratna can not prevent future analysts from critiquing his contribution to organised corruption in the county", he said.

Criticising the other group of teachers for issuing a statement against the Prime Minister's remark, the teachers said, "The statement was issued by some DU teachers who do not want anyone to point fingers at Rajiv Gandhi whereas they refer to the incumbent PM in the foulest language on a daily basis".

Vadra claimed that 5 crore jobs were lost in the country because of demonetisation alone. "Renowned poet Dinkar has written, 'When someone is about to be destroyed, their wisdom ends first", Priyanka said at a rally in Haryana's Ambala. "This is how they tortured youth in these five years".

"The Congress has joined hands with such people", Ms Irani said at an election rally in the city.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra likens PM Narendra Modi to Duryodhan, Amit Shah hits back: Congress General Secretary from eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday launched a veiled attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the same kind of arrogance was the reason behind Duryodhan's (the main villain of the epic Mahabharata) downfall.

Describing PM Modi as a poor woman's son, who is the prime servant of the country, the BJP leader said he has provided toilets and cooking gas facility to crores of women in the country under the NDA government's welfare schemes.

While a group of 207 teachers issued a public statement condemning Modi's remark about Gandhi during a political rally, another group of 121 supported the Prime Minister. He added that this is a democracy and nobody could become "Duryodhana" just because one called them so. "But the people of India will decide on May 23 as to who is Duryodhana and who Arjuna [another character in the Mahabharata]". The result of Lok Sabha election on May 23 will teach a lesson to Priyanka.
