What did Daenerys whisper to Jorah?

The courageous character fought valiantly for his queen, taking blade after blade in his effort to protect her. Daenerys' heartbroken sobs were one of the last things we saw in the third episode of Game of Thrones' final season. Clarke walked up and tearfully whispered in his ear. Neither actor wore microphones and the rest of the cast and crew were out of earshot. According to Entertainment Weekly's James Hibberd, who was on set at the time, the shooting script for the episode read something like, "Daenerys whispers something to him that he'll never hear and we'll never know..."

EW spoke to Glen about it. C'mon, Jorah, give up the goods: "It's something entirely honest and true to the moment and something that I'll never forget", he said. Instead, Clarke had the freedom to create her own farewell - and Glen would only offer a hint about the nature of Clarke's words.

Given that the entire point of the scene is that the audience is not supposed to know, Glen wasn't about to blurt out to EW whatever Daenerys said. So we tried to simply get a sense of what kind of statement she made: Did Clarke say something honest?

"It's something entirely honest and true to the moment and something that I'll never forget", Glen says. When asked if he's prepared to field questions about that dialogue for years after Thrones ends, the actor revealed that he plans to keep Clarke's goodbye to himself, despite fans' curiosity. "Yeah, but you know what?" Only two people know what she wrote: her and actor Iain Glen. "And that's a memory to hold onto".
