Thursday, May 2 - UCI Student Health Center, 1 p.m. -3 p.m.

OH hasn't had a reported case of measles since 2014, but cases have been confirmed this year in neighboring Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky.

"While some students visiting the Student Health Center yesterday have been cleared, we are still identifying and gathering medical histories for those who may have been in contact with this individual".

On Tuesday, the LA County Board of Supervisors approved a motion that supports state legislation that would strengthen immunization requirements and directs the Department of Public Health to report back on prevention efforts.

Orange County officials warned Wednesday that a woman with measles had exposed a Fullerton theater full of moviegoers. Please be assured that we have the resources we need for prevention and treatment, and that we are working closely with local public health officials to address this issue.

Cases have spiked this year with more than 700 nationwide, the most since 1994. "Students who are concerned about their immunity status should visit the Student Health Center, while faculty and staff should contact their medical providers".

Measles outbreaks, consisting of three or more cases, are now occurring in at least six counties in the state, including Butte County, Los Angeles County and Sacramento County, according to the California Department of Public Health. The individual is now under voluntary isolation at home. The child is too young to have been vaccinated and remains in the hospital, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

Thursday- Friday, April 25-26 - AMC Movie Theatre, 1001 S. Lemon St., Fullerton from 11 4 a.m.

Review their vaccination history if they have not previously had measles.

Measles is on the uptick in the country and internationally.

The latest case comes after concerns about the spread of measles on two campuses in Los Angeles County, Cal State Los Angeles and UCLA, led health officials to quarantine hundreds of students until the period for signs of new infections passed earlier this week.

That latest case became public hours after UC Irvine officials said a graduate student who spent time on campus this week had also been confirmed to have the highly-contagious disease.
