Antonio Rudiger, Chelsea star, to miss rest of season due to injury

Chelsea have been dealt with a huge blow after Antonio Rudiger endured a knee injury against Liverpool earlier this month.

Chelsea said the Germany worldwide underwent surgery on his left knee meniscus on Tuesday after being injured during this weekend's 1-1 Premier League draw at Manchester United.

But the key defender appears certain to miss those fixtures as he undergoes surgery to fix his injured left knee.

He started the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday but limped off after 65 minutes.

Andreas Christensen is now set to partner David Luiz at the back as Chelsea look to hold on to their top four place or win the Europa League title.

The Germany worldwide, signed for £29m from Roma in July 2017, has made 44 appearances for the Blues this season.

The Blues face Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League last-four clash on Thursday night.

Chelsea are fourth in the Premier League with 68 points and looking to secure the position to ensure Champions League soccer next season.
