Meghan Markle's mother has arrived in the United Kingdom as the pregnant Duchess of Sussex is due to welcome her first child with Prince Harry any day.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share three new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow".

If she does indeed have the baby on the 23rd, it would mean Meghan and Prince Harry's bub would share their birthday with another royal - Prince Louis - who was born on St George's Day a year ago.

This time a year ago, Kate was days away from giving birth to Prince Louis.

The playful tot is covered in bits of moss, having clearly had a wonderful time playing in the garden during the photoshoot with his mother.

The adorable tot does not seem camera shy as he gazes into the camera in one of the pictures while two bottom teeth can be seen. He celebrates his first birthday on Tuesday, April 23.

Queen Elizabeth made for the cutest baby.

Her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were not with the couple.

Fans couldn't get enough of the new photos of the young prince, with many claiming he was a spitting image of his father and his older brother.

The move will be viewed as both symptom and cause of the recent formal split in the young royal household of Kensington Palace, with Prince William and Harry working increasingly differently amid rumours of a rift.

Another person wrote: "Louis is a mix of George and Charlotte".

Shortly before the clock struck midnight, Kensington Palace Instagram, the official account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, released three photos of their youngest taken by Princess Kate herself, the unofficial photographer of the Cambridges.

In March, Kate revealed during a visit to a children's centre that Louis, then about 11 months old, was an active child who enjoyed "bombing around" on a walker.
