The flight attendant, who works for El Al, the Israeli national airline, is said to have been perfectly healthy before contracting measles. She's now in intensive care at the Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, Israel.

A young boy, 10, has also been hospitalized at Schneider Medical Center in Petah Tikva with suspected brain damage and is attached to a ventilator, according to television reports. Almost two-thirds of all cases have been in the state of NY, and 85% of the latest week's cases came from the state.

The woman was working on board El AL flight 002 from John F. "Call your health care provider to check your immunization status and schedule your vaccine if you haven't had one".

Make your reservations, buy your ticket, pack your bags, and get a measles vaccination, before you hit the travelways this spring and summer.

Now, the flight attendant is unable to breathe without a respirator.

Most of the NY cases have been unvaccinated people in Orthodox Jewish communities. It turns out about 98% of people who were born before 1957 are immune.

Measles is making a resurgence in Israel due primarily to parents not inoculating their children.

The 2019 tally is already the most since 2014, when 667 were reported.

Health officials shut down four schools last week, and a pre-school this week, for "refusing to confirm or deny that all of their attendees had received the MMR shot", the Daily Mail reported.

Speak with your healthcare provider and your child's peediatrician about vaccination before migrating.

"If everybody had been vaccinated as required we would not be in this situation", Prof. The parents of three children might also be summoned and fined for not vaccinating their children as per the Emergency Order. "Everyone got it so they are in the clear", said Dr. Allison Bartlett, a pediatric infectious disease specialist at the University of Chicago Medicine.

"The unvamished truth is that these diagnoses represent the most significant spike in incidences of measles in the United States in many years and that the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn is at its epicenter", he wrote.

Measles is a serious, highly contagious disease caused by a virus. A month later, an 82-year-old woman became the second fatality.

The five parents filed the lawsuit Monday against the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene saying the order lacks sufficient evidence of the measles outbreak and violates legal religious exemptions.

Since the measles outbreak in NY started in October, 329 measles cases have been reported, with 44 cases added since the Emergency Order was upheld.

Currently, La Salle County has no confirmed cases of measles. Orthodox Jewish leaders say a small faction of vaccine opponents in the community has allowed the disease to spread.
