South Africa scored 20 unanswered second half points to deny Fiji back to back titles at the Singapore Sevens.

Aminiasi Tuimaba, Napolioni Bolaca and Vilimoni Botitu scored tries for Fiji in the first half, two of which were converted by Bolaca, and the Islanders seemingly had one hand on the trophy after 14 minutes.

The Blitzboks remain fourth on the overall standings after eight rounds, 24 points behind leaders USA.

Finishing second in the Singapore 7s last night, the Fiji Airways 7s team takes charge of Pool B of the next tournament in London.

Tries from Kurt-Lee Arendse, Angelo Davids and Ryan Oosthuizen as well as one conversion from Selvyn Davids and the match-winning penalty off his boot made for a nail-biting finish.

SA celebrates victory win against Fiji. The series will next head to London (May 25-26) before the finale in Paris (June 1-2).

Meanwhile, newly crowned Singapore champion South Africa leads Pool A with Argentina, Canada, and Japan.

Samoa's Paul Scanlan races away for a try in Singapore.

Series leaders, United States of America defeated Wales 31-12.

South Africa then swept aside Samoa in the quarter-final before another dominant display against the U.S. in the semi-final to set up a final against the Islanders.
