"She destroyed the show and my life with that tweet", Barr told WaPo in response to Gilbert's response to her comments.

Barr's remarks, comparing Jarrett to an ape, swiftly got her fired previous year from ABC's successful reboot of her sitcom.

Roseanne Barr was sacked for her tweet about a USA senator.

"While I am extremely heartbroken over the dissolution of the original show, she will always be family, and I will always love Roseanne", Gilbert told the outlet.

The show's executive producer, Tom Werner, apparently told Barr that she could fix her reputation if she signed over her rights to the show and save the jobs of the crew, who would have been fired in the event of a cancellation. After Sara slammed the former sitcom star's tweet about Obama's former aide, Roseanne had replied in May 2018, "Wow! unreal".

The list of "The Conners" cast members confirmed to return in Season 2 include Goodman, Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, who also serves as an executive producer, Goranson as well as Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy.

Last year, Barr's reboot was canned by ABC after she compared Jarrett to the "Muslim Brotherhood" and "Planet of the Apes", which many decried as racist. After she was sacked from the show he all but offered her a role in the White House.

"Shmuley saved my life", Barr said. Despite the controversy that led to its creation, "The Conners" was a solid performer for ABC in its freshman season, averaging 9.5 million viewers and coming in as the season's No. 1 new comedy.
