Windows 10 19H1 should be finalized this month

"We are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18358 (19H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring", Microsoft's Dona Sarkar announced last night. To see the entire release notes, you can read the blog post.

Still haven't had a chance to get the game State of Decay for free (for a limited time)?

At the moment, the Windows Defender Application Guard extension is only available to Windows Insiders but it will be rolled out to all soon. This extension is created to redirect untrusted sites to isolated Microsoft Edge sessions, where any actions in the browser do not affect the computer. We'll be trying out another update later today.

We fixed an issue where certain upgrade paths could result in the contents of the Recycle Bin being left under Windows.old.

We fixed an issue resulting in some Insider experiencing green screens with error KERNEL_SECURITY_VIOLATION.

There are several other known issues, including a bug hitting the Microsoft Store app. App updates do not automatically install on this build, and Microsoft says that users need to manually check for updates and then install them from the Store. There's also a Microsoft Store companion app that you need, but Microsoft's own link embarrassingly now points to a fake third-party site. "Open Select "..." "Downloads and updates" "Get updates".

Creative X-Fi sound cards are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.

Here's a look at what's new in build 18358 for the Fast ring. Hyper-V is a viable alternative if available to you. This has been a pretty busy couple of days for Windows Insiders overall, and we hope the flow of new builds will continue next week. You will have to remain in the Fast ring to add/install/enable optional content.
