The Bears are adding safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in free agency, NFL Network reported on Thursday afternoon.

After spending most of his career with the Green Bay Packers in addition to a brief stint with the Washington Redskins, the 26-year-old safety has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears.

The Chicago Bears are going all Crimson Tide on the back end of their defense for the 2019 National Football League season.

Clinton-Dix, a first-round pick of the Packers in 2014, was traded to the Washington Redskins at the trade deadline last season. He played in 71 games for Green Bay before the Redskins acquired him in October 2018.

According to Garafolo, Clinton-Dix had more money on the table elsewhere but turned it down so he could join former his former Alabama teammate Eddie Jackson in the Bears secondary. But Amos signed a four-year, $37 million deal with the Packers. In seven games with the Packers in 2018, Clinton-Dix intercepted three passes and made 27 tackles. Clinton-Dix fills the hole left by Amos, and does so with plenty of experience within the NFC North.

The Bears hosted Clinton-Dix in Chicago Wednesday night and Thursday morning and apparently the meeting was a good one if both sides came to an agreement.

Over four and a half seasons with the Packers, Clinton-Dix tallied 390 tackles, 14 interceptions and 5.5 sacks.
