Apple Announces Services Event for March 25

Cupertino giant Apple has officially sent out invites for an event on March 25th at the company's new Steve Jobs theater in Cupertino, California. If a new report by Bloomberg is to be believed, we now also have a little more information on what that event will offer, and it makes for an interesting reading.

The company was rumoured to be holding an event on March 25 before, and it's now sending out official invites to the press this evening.

The tagline of the event makes it clear that Apple will be using the event to showcase its TV streaming service and premium Apple News subscription service.

The short clip ends with the famous Apple logo and the words "It's show time".

While we don't know precisely how Apple's streaming service will look until that March 25th showcase, it's very likely to get its hooks into almost all of the company's media-consuming hardware, from iPhone to Apple TV. Apple is in talks with HBO, Showtime, and Starz, and all three are expected to join Apple's service eventually. However, it is possible that the company might unveil the rumored 5th generation iPad mini, AirPods 2, and AirPower wireless charging mat.

Unsurprisingly, Netflix and Hulu will not be a part of Apple's TV service, because they don't want Apple to control the user experience or have access to their viewing data.

We'll know exactly what Apple is going to announce once it actually announces it all, so we'll be glued to the live stream on March 25th.
