Wisconsin scored the first five points of after intermission, with a Nate Reuvers 3-pointer and a Happ layup.

The No. 6-ranked University of MI men's basketball team dropped a Big Ten Conference road game against Penn State, 75-69, on Tuesday night (Feb. 12) at Bryce Jordan Center. Pritzl made two free throws and then nailed a three-pointer to give the Kohl Center a burst of energy.

Cassius Winston led the Spartans with 23 points.

The Wolverines worked on cutting into the Penn State lead as the defense forced a jump ball in their favor, Simpson hit two free throws on the opposite end and Teske completed an and-one play with 12:34 left in the second half to cut Michigan's deficit to 52-45.

It was one of those gritty wins that Tom Izzo-coached teams have been known for over the years and definitely a memorable one - especially for Kenny Goins who hit one of the biggest shots of his life with 30 seconds left to essentially ice the game.

Wisconsin scored the first five points of the second half to open a six-point lead, one that disappeared nearly as quickly.

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 24: Head coach Greg Gard of the Wisconsin Badgers looks on against the Florida Gators during the 2017 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament East Regional at Madison Square Garden on March 24, 2017 in New York City.

Wisconsin redshirt senior center and Wooden Award candidate Ethan Happ scored 20, but in many ways it was by design. Two jumpers from Wisconsin's Kobe King helped give the Badgers a 38-37 lead headed to the locker room.

Though the game slowed down considerably in the second half, the Spartans' run-and-gun style seemed to tire out the Badgers and lead to the battle of attrition that occurred later on.

As dominant as Happ was at times, he also accounted for six of the Badgers' 10 turnovers. Nick Ward finished with 12 points and six rebounds, while Aaron Henry added eight points - including a key jumper with 2:29 to play that sparked MSU's closing run. "He does so many good things for us".

Happ's 20 points put him at 2,000 for his career as he became the fourth player in Big Ten history to record 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in their career.

Michigan State: The Spartans, who had lost three in a row to start February, have now won back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, the Badgers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten.

Over on the Wisconsin side, they're 17-7 this season.
