Klopp's efforts since joining the club in 2015 have pushed them close to the pinnacle, with last season's defeat in the Champions League final their best accomplishment in recent years.

Jurgen Klopp's current contract with Liverpool ends in 2021/22 but the fans want him to stay beyond that.

"My adviser Björn Bezemer later informed me that there was contact with Bayern after the match, but I don't think they were really interested".

"Klopp says for logical reasons alone, Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world".

Speaking to German media outlet Sport Bild he was speaking about Bayern Munich's chances against Liverpool in the Champions League last 16 tie next week.

With the core of his squad pledging their futures to the club-and hopefully the likes of Gini Wijnaldum, Rafa Camacho and Curtis Jones to follow-Klopp could build a legacy on Merseyside.

That could lead Liverpool to sign players who won't necessarily immediately improve their options in attack for the 2019/20 campaign. On one hand, that is very attractive for Klopp, but on the other hand a bit frustrating: "Bayern always signed some of his players, and that was gnawing at him". "I'd advise him to join Liverpool".

"Bayern have great, great players, but no great "team".

The 25-year old has proved that he's more than just a shield for the defense by showing that he's not only strong in the tackle, but that he's got a range of passing that's crucial for the high octane brand of football employed by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp - skills that the German manager may not have seen right off the hop.

Apart from Liverpool and Barcelona, European champions Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the player.

"They have an identity, a plan-so everything Bayern does not now have".

And now according to German journalist Raphael Honigstein, it is nearly certain that Jurgen Klopp will sign a new deal at the club.
