The Blue Devils were down 59-36 with 9:13 left in the game and stormed back by closing on a 35-10 run.

Williamson, who had a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils, said he relied on something Krzyzewski had told him in the past to turn the game around.

After coach Mike Krzyzewski told his struggling Blue Devils at halftime that he doesn't "coach losers", Duke pulled off a historic comeback on the road against No. 16 Louisville. Duke scored just 10 points during the first 12 minutes of the second half, which allowed Louisville to jump out to a 23-point lead.

The largest second half comeback with under 10 minutes left in the second half was VCU's win over South Florida on February 20, 1993, when the Rams stormed back from 26 down with 9:58 to go to win in overtime.

Not even Coach K could grasp that rally. So you're talking positive, but I don't know belief. "At that point, I may have been telling them a lie".

Here the the eight greatest Duke comebacks under Coach K, taking into consideration strength of opponent, location, importance, and probability. RJ Barrett had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists. The Cardinals shot 42 percent, but just 9 of 24 in the second half. Louisville has work to do against Clemson if it wants to stay in the AP Top 25.

For some more historical context, this comeback effort from Duke was the largest second half deficit overcome by a team with less than 10 minutes to go in NCAA basketball history (hat tip to the NCAA for the historical data) without overtime.

Not only did Cam Reddish's game-winning free throws come after a charge call was reviewed and switched to a block when Ryan McMahon was determined to be inside the protected area at the time of contact, but most of the final minutes for Louisville were played with no timeouts. They were outrebounded 41-39 but came up with needed boards in the clutch.

Louisville had a last-second chance to tie things up, but missed the shot.

The loss drops No. 16 Louisville to 17-8.

Up next for the #2 ranked Blue Devils is a home game against NC State on Saturday afternoon, followed by a Wednesday night showdown against hated rival UNC.
