Wednesday's conference is co-hosted by the USA and Poland and its official focus is Mideast peace and security.

Netanyahu and the Arab officials also shared a stage during a group photo scheduled for meeting participants.

"We are doing everything necessary", said Netanyahu, as he inspected Israel's Iron Dome aerial defence system.

He also confirmed Israel carried out a strike against Iran in Syria a day before.

On Wednesday the Israeli prime minister is set to take part in an global conference in Warsaw co-organised by the United States and Poland.

"We are operating every day, including yesterday, against Iran".

"I think that holding this conference, in which Israel, the United States, various countries around the world and from the region sit down in one place. and discuss one topic-which, in my opinion, is the most important for our national security-is a very important achievement".

Oman hosted the Israeli leader in October and several high-ranking Israeli ministers have also made visits to countries in the Gulf over the past year. Israel and Oman have unofficial economic relations but not formal diplomatic relations.

Iran was not invited, nor will the Palestinians have any representation at the summit.

The comments were made to reporters on the sidelines of the Warsaw Middle East ministerial following Netanyahu's meeting with the Sultanate of Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Yusuf bin Alawi. The meeting occurred a conference in Poland, The Hill reported. "This is a new era for the future, and for prosperity for all the nations". In a joint op-ed published Wednesday morning on CNN's website, Pompeo and Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz wrote that the summit will deal mainly with the civil wars in Syria and Yemen, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and other security-related regional matters.

US Vice President Mike Pence is leading Washington's delegation, which includes US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, who is also Donald Trump's son-in-law.

Arab nations and Israel faced a common threat of Iranian regional aggression and Washington was working closely with these nations to counter this, he said.
