Redskins assistant Jack Gruden, son of head coach Jay Gruden, arrested in Ashburn

- The son of Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden is facing criminal charges after he allegedly became involved in a number of drunken confrontations in Ashburn over the weekend. According to ESPN's John Keim, Gruden has been charged with being drunk in public. He has a hearing scheduled for March 21.

A Loudoun County Sheriff's Deputy was on patrol around 2:15 a.m.at the intersection of Exchange and Thorndike streets when he saw Gruden arguing with another man, and separated them.

"We are aware of the arrest of Jack Gruden, we are gathering more information and will not comment until we have further details", Tony Wyllie, the Redskins Senior Vice President Communications said Monday in a statement.

Jack Gruden is entering his first full National Football League season with the Redskins in 2018 after joining the team as a video assistant on a full-time basis during the 2018 offseason. According to the Redskins' website, Gruden's job entails "filming and editing all of the Redskins' games and practices and assisting the team's coaching staff with miscellaneous video tasks".

His father is entering his sixth season as the Redskins' head coach with a 35-44-1 record and one postseason appearance.
