Jose Mourinho on the ice in Russia
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will host a television show covering the Champions League, it has been announced.
Mourinho filmed a promotional advert for the new show when he paid a recent visit to Russian Federation, where he attended an ice hockey game and slipped while delivering the puck.
"I'm going to talk about football on RT".
Mourinho also appeared at a hockey rink in Moscow's suburbs this month, slipping on the ice and taking a nasty tumble while performing a ceremonial puck drop.
The opening show will be broadcast after the first set of Champions League last 16 second-leg matches have been concluded, and Mourinho will continue his role with Russia Today until the 1 June final.
Despite mainstream politicians and pundits appearing on its channels in Britain, the USA, and beyond, a number of academics have claimed it broadcasts distorted information on behalf of Russian president Vladimir Putin.
And in December past year, United Kingdom media regulator Ofcom ruled that seven programs that RT broadcast after the Salisbury nerve gas attacks breached strict impartiality rules.
Mourinho guided United through the competition's group stages before being sacked in December amid reports of player unrest.
